Rosewood Drawers     in     “The Anton Gerner Exhibition” Previous Piece

Material

Brazilian Rosewood, Celery Top Pine, Piano Black Polyester.

Size

1200mm wide x 1400mm high x 550mm deep

Description

“This is one of my contemporary Art Deco pieces. It’s made out of rare Brazilian Rosewood, which is now an endangered species.

“There were some renowned furniture makers in Melbourne in the 1960s called Rosando Furniture. This Rosewood veneer actually came from their veneer store, and from before it was considered endangered (the veneer had the date 1962 written on it).

“I kept it for years and years until I was able to make a
piece that I thought was good enough. By running the grain diagonally, using the repetition of veneer matching in a new way, I have created interest right around the piece.”

Price Guide (AUD)
